Reading – John 4 v1-6
Eulogy
Eric was born in Bristol on 27th May 1924. He joined the Fleet Air Arm and served on HMS Indefatigable. He was based in Simon’s Town in South Africa and in his own words, enjoyed a very peaceful war.
His 21st birthday lasted 7 days!
He returned to his family and then moved to London as a cabinet maker. He later worked for Wrightons Furniture until his retirement. The family home was in Potters Bar in Hertfordshire. On retirement, Eric and Maureen moved to Edmonton Road, along with Lilly Dear (mum’s mum)
Having known each other for many years, Eric married Maureen (mum) in December 1972 and they enjoyed 28 years of marriage until mum passed away in July 2000.
Eric and Dorothy then had 20 years together and the family are grateful for all the love, company and care that Dorothy gave Eric over the years.
Eric leaves Christopher and Christine, Andrew and Sue
Eric has 3 grand daughters – Rhian, Eleanor (Ellie) and Alice.
